Koran-burning pastor Terry Jones is in Michigan to protest Sharia law or something, and he’s insisted on traveling armed.
The outspoken pastor, 59, of Gainesville, Fla., was getting in the passenger side of his car at 11:10 p.m. after an interview when the Taurus handgun went off, sending a bullet into the floorboard, Southfield Police Lt. Nick Loussia said today.
Jones says he was just really tired and didn’t mean to shoot his own car.

A pastor who preaches at a nearby Florida church is aghast at the global outrage the Quran-burning minister has provoked. “He represents only 30 people in this town,” the pastor tells the New York Times. “It needs to get out somehow to the rest of the world that this isn’t the face of Christianity.”

Meanwhile, Sarah Palin gets it exactly wrong. As usual.
Some lady got freaked out by a group of Pakistani guys on a plane, and so they were removed by the airline. Turns out they were a military delegation from Pakistan on their way to a meeting at Central Command. Pakistan decided to cancel the meeting.
Pakistani officials said the officer, weary from the journey to the US, had said, “I hope this is the final plane to the destination” causing a female passenger, who believed he was threatening the aircraft, to panic.
