Obama Will Ban Fishing after He Kills Your Baby
March 16th, 2010

Throw another one on the pile of absurd lies that Real Americans are willing to believe without a second thought as long as they will get another reason to hate Obama.
Apparently now, the President wants to ban fishing. What? Yes, he has set up a task force that is looking to make some recommendations about managing our waterways. It is therefore not a stretch (read: completely untrue) that the task force will ban recreational fishing.

The Mormons Baptized Obama’s Mom
May 6th, 2009
In 2008, the Mormon Church baptized President Obama’s mother posthumously. Which didn’t surprise me much. But apparently the baptism was against the Mormon religious code because the dead are only supposed to be baptized when a living, Mormon relative submits them for it. And here I thought they were just baptizing the entire human race will-nilly.

Obama learns from a Bush success
April 23rd, 2009
An interesting observation in David Broder’s column about Obama’s first 100 days. Whatever else you may say about Bush, he knew how to manage his schedule, and that’s one of the fundamental challenges of the Presidency.
Obama inherited a much-improved scheduling system from the first MBA president, George W. Bush, with an electronic calendar, stretching from the next day to the next month to the next year, available to senior staffers. Obama has continued Bush's pattern of weekly Saturday scheduling sessions, run by Emanuel; Alyssa Mastromonaco, the director of scheduling and advance; and Danielle Crutchfield, the president's own scheduler, and attended by other senior staffers. A daily early-morning scheduling huddle allows for fine-tuning.
Shepard Fairey on the HOPE Poster Controversy
March 29th, 2009
Shepard Fairey has written a piece discussing the controversy surrounding his use of an AP photo as a reference for his iconic HOPE poster of Obama. He makes all the expected (and I think highly valid) arguments for why he didn’t need to ask permission to use the photo, why he doesn’t owe AP or Mannie Garcia (the photographer) any money, and why the poster is still his own original work. And driving the point home, he also points out that the photo he based his illustration on wasn’t even the one that the press has been circulating.
Obama vs. Jindal: Round One
February 11th, 2009
Wonkette puts it well: The election starts now. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal will deliver the Republican response to Obama’s upcoming speech to both houses of congress. (A semi-State of the Union.)
