Chemically indistinguishable from urine

From the abstract of Vaginal eroticism: a replication study:

This study supports previous findings regarding vaginal eroticism. It does not support the existence of the discrete anatomical structure called the Grafenberg spot. It supports the contention that there are two distinct types of female orgasm, vaginally evoked and clitorally evoked. It also supports the finding that some women expel a fluid through the urethra at the time of orgasm. In this particular case the fluid was chemically indistinguishable from urine.

Good to know.

Suicide bomber prematurely suicided by Happy New Year text

A “Black Widow” suicide bomber was going to detonate herself in central Moscow. Her bomb was rigged to be set off by someone else using a cell phone.

The mistake the woman and her terror group made was to use an existing active cell phone as the trigger. While preparing her suicide belt at a safe house a few hours before the terrible act was meant to happen, her mobile operator sent her a Happy New Year text. That was enough to trigger the detonation killing her and making a real mess of the house.

Mohamed ElBaradei in Egypt

Love this report out of Egypt:

The crowd shouted first for the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak then, as Mr. ElBaradei stood facing the police, the crowd chanted “peacefully, peacefully”

Police beat them with clubs and used water cannons on the protesters, including Mr. ElBaradei, a Nobel laureate and opposition leader, who was drenched as he stood his ground for about 15 minutes.

As the police began to fire tear gas canisters he retreated back inside the mosque, washing gas residue from his face and putting on a mask he recovered.

“This is an indication of a barbaric regime,” Mr. ElBaradei said. “They are doomed.”

ElBaradei is now under house arrest.

Hipster faith

 Hipster faith

A primer on hipster faith:

In order to remain relevant in this new landscape, many evangelical pastors and church leaders are following the lead of the hipster trendsetters, making sure their churches can check off all the important items on the hipster checklist:

  • Get the church involved in social justice and creation care.
  • Show clips from R-rated Coen Brothers films (e.g., No Country for Old Men, Fargo) during services.
  • Sponsor church outings to microbreweries.
  • Put a worship pastor onstage decked in clothes from American Apparel.
  • Be okay with cussing.
  • Print bulletins only on recycled cardstock.
  • Use Helvetica fonts as much as possible.
  • Leverage technologies like Twitter.
