Volvos know if someone’s hiding in your car, but no one cares

I just learned about a weird feature that recent Volvos have had:

The system, part of a $550 option package, allows drivers to use their key fob to remotely check for anyone lurking in the rear seat. The intruder in hiding is detected by their heartbeat.

It turns out that this is not something people really needed or wanted. So it’s being discontinued. It wouldn’t have worked on Dick Cheney anyway.
