No Healing for Pastor Ted

Quoth a member of Ted Haggard’s New Life Church:

“I probably cried all morning,” Richmond said. “He knows he’s hurt us and it hurts when your brother has done something, but like Pastor Ross said, he’s in a good place — he’s better off this week than he was last week — and he will receive the healing he needs and he did a good thing for our church so that we can heal.”

Yes, but Christianity as preached and practiced by New Life Church can offer no healing. The only place they have for gay men is in the closet — which was the problem, in the first place. Perhaps their idea of healing is shoving him back into denial, condemning him to misery for the rest of his life. They don’t want to acknowledge that gayness is a naturally occurring part of who someone is, so they don’t have any way to embrace gay people. Sad.

Meanwhile, former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey is considering getting gay married if possible, and Neil Patrick Harris got a hi-five from the press for coming out this week.

I cannot believe that Jim McGreevey is considering getting gay marriage. When he was a Governor, he was anti-gay marriage, even though he knows who he was (fooling behind his 2 wives’ back). His excuse was to hide his homosexuality. Has he thought of other gay men who were out and wanted to get married? No, all he cares were his own benefits and his own political arena. And now he is considering gay marriage? Does he know what does marriage entail? Does he know that one needs character and commitment in order to get married? What happen when he is sick of his Australian boyfriend’s dick and he wants to hang out at those gay booths in gay bookstores, restrooms at those freeways in New Jersey and those dark alleys behind the synagogue near Georgetown University again? He should handle those divorces that he is going through. I have no respect for a hypocrite like him.
