Funeral Songs

The top 10 songs British people want played at their funerals:

1. Goodbye My Lover, James Blunt.
2. Angels, Robbie Williams
3. Ive Had the Time of My Life, Jennifer Warnes and Bill Medley
4. Wind Beneath My Wings, Bette Midler
5. Pie Jesu, Requiem
6. Candle in the Wind, Elton John
7. With or Without You, U2
8. Tears from Heaven, Eric Clapton
9. Every Breath You Take, The Police
10. Unchained Melody, Righteous Brothers

And once again, people refuse to listen to any of the words in “Every Breath You Take”. “Every smile you fake, I’ll be watching you” – Oh yeah, that’s totally how I want people to think of me when I’m gone. Creepy.

I’m thinking more like “Every Breath You Take” is a message from beyond the grave, rather than an elegy.

Right, that’s what I meant. Like I’m haunting all you still-alive motherfuckers.

I heard this story on NPR the other night. I have decided I need a will sooner rather than later, if just to insure that “I Had The Time Of My Life” isn’t played at my memorial.
