Passionate “Debate” in the Conservative Movement

Reason links to a video (on soros.org) of what was supposed to be a debate about US drug policy between two conservatives. What actually happens is that after the first conservative Ethan Nadelmann makes a passionate case that ending the drug war should be a conservative cause, the second conservative Richard Poe spends his whole clumsy speech explaining that conservatives shouldn’t listen to Ethan Nadelmann because he’s connected to George Soros. Poe doesn’t say anything about his position on the drug war until an audience member asks him why he supports it. Turns out he doesn’t.
